Literature Live! Theatre Series

The Literature Live! Theatre series returns to the Tulsa Convention Center for a second season. Presented by Spirit AeroSystems, the three show season features some of the most-beloved children’s literary characters. The 2013-2014 season includes: “Henry & Mudge,” “Peter Pan,” and “Laura Ingalls Wilder.”

Literature Live! brings the power of the word from the page to the stage. Using curriculum-based literature, this program creates a unique learning experience by bringing professional theatre artists together to present first class productions. The program is also supported with teacher-developed lesson plans and reference materials to even further enhance this unique learning and arts experience.

2013-2014 SEASON
Henry & Mudge – October 4, 2013

Moving from the city to a new house in the country can be tough. Just ask Henry, who can't find a playmate in his new neighborhood! Luckily, he's got Mudge, a great big, 182-pound canine buddy, with whom he can share all kinds of adventures! Based on the best-selling series of books by Cynthia Rylant.

Peter Pan – February 19, 2014 
Showings: 9:30am & 12:00pm
This touring production explores the journey of a group of children in turn-of-the-century London who use their imaginations to reenact the story of Peter Pan. This production encourages children to let their imaginations take “flight” and to create their own adventures using household objects as props and puppets as characters.

Laura Ingalls Wilder – May 5, 2014
Showings: 9:30am & 12:00pm
Laura and her family travel across America in search of a place they can call home. Facing obstacles such as scarlet fever and eviction from their land, their pioneering spirit and family bonds are tested but never broken.
